Support Your Local School Chaplain: Donate Now and Make a Difference

As Christmastime approaches, so does the end of the financial year for 2022. Now is the perfect time to begin thinking about supporting your local school chaplain. The government's budget for chaplaincy is only $61.4 million, shared across almost 10,000 schools. This amount can at most represent just 3,000 chaplains working only one day a week in 30% of schools across Australia.

At GWFC Chaplaincy, we believe that every school should have access to the support and guidance of a chaplain. That's why we work with local churches to provide chaplains who are connected to the local community and understand the unique needs of the schools and families they serve.

Our chaplains provide almost 175,000 support programs for over 1.2 million participants nationally every year. This includes more than 80,000 sessions supporting social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, as well as 50,000 educational support programs and almost 15,000 extra-curricular activities.

In addition, school chaplains have more than 420,000 preventative and responsive formal pastoral care conversations with students every year. These conversations cover a range of issues, including friendship and peer concerns, school behavior, mental health, bullying and harassment, and family breakdown.

Without the support of school chaplains, many of these conversations and support programs would not be possible. That's why we need your help to fund a chaplain this EOFY. Your donation will go a long way in supporting local schools and helping them access the vital support and guidance they need.

All donations made are 100% tax-deductible, so don't wait – get in before the end of the financial year. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of students, families, and communities across Australia.
